Max's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX...Such a COOL, BIG 4 yr Old BOY!

The best present Max got was a wooden gun that Justin carved out of wood to fit into Woody's holster. It was so sweet! Justin loved giving it and Max LOVED receiving it!
(BTW Mike and Alisha, the boys have LOVED Buzz and Woody! Thanks millions!)

As I served soup for dinner the other night, Max emotionally expressed his disappointment with my choice of foods, "Mom! I only like three things...boogers, toothpaste and cheese!"

Co-op

MORE Maxisms:

During Justin's Co-op, I do a little pre-school co-op for Max and friends. This morning he asked me, "Mom, are we going to Kolob today?"

I guess Max has VERY HIGH expectations for co-op! It's so cute, I can't bring myself to correct him.

Above is a picture of Max feeding a baby calf, and below is a picture of the kids learning "Grand Ol Flag" and marching around the house waving the flag and playing spoons! We do have fun at co-op....and Justin LOVES his as well!!!!!!

Scripture puppets

We made puppets for scripture study. Max and I worked on David, and Justin made Goliath. I think they turned out SO cute!
Max wanted David on a green popsicle stick. When he brought him into where I was nursing Noah, I commented on how green David looked. Max said, "Yea, because he drank some quantonium (the liquid Susan drinks in Monsters vs. Aliens)!!!" Okay, I can't stop laughing at that! How does he remember these big words...and uses them so well???? Oh, he is funny!!!

Newest member of the Farm Family

Meet Stripes... the newest member of our little Farm Family. If he survives Max and Noah, it will be a simple miracle!!!!

On the way to a Sacrament Meeting/ Farewell for Bekah Demordaunt, the boys were writing a farewell letter. Max finished his drawing and I said, "Don't forget to sign it!" Max replied, "I did. See? It says,

"MAX. com"

Oh my how we laughed at that!!! Max.com coming your way! Do we live in a technological world or what??? My 3-year old is signing his name Max.com!

I was lying next to Max as he was dozing off into sleep, when he said, "Mom, I need another binkie." I asked, "What do you need another binkie for?" He replied, "To put in my ear!"

After many days of discussing/teaching about not saying unkind words, Max crawled into my lap and put his hands tenderly on my cheeks, looked sweetly into my eyes and said, "Mom, you're not dumb OR stupid."

On the way home from church:

Max: Justin, there's a pirate in the back of the car!!!!

Justin: O no! What should we do???!!

Max: Don't worry. We are the pirates of God!!!!


After swimming, Max fell asleep. So not to wake him and because the night was so hot, we just put him to bed in his undies. In the middle of the night, he woke up horrified and yelled, "Mom, the fan blew me naked!!!"


Another conversation in the car (totally out of the blue):

Max: I am in charge of school now.

Justin: Oh yea, and what will you teach?

Max: The gospel!

I want a Testimony!

In Fast and Testimony Meeting today, Max watched intently as a little girl shared her testimony. After she finished, he whispered to Geoff, "I want to have a testimony!"

So for FHE that night we talked about what it means to have a testimony and how you share it. The Lesson began like this:

Mom: What is a testimony?

Max: It is when you stand up and talk into the microphone.

Geoff: (going along with Max's answer) And what do you say?

Max: (Throwing his hands into the air and speaking with much passion) "I come before you in the name of the Lord!!!!"

So there you have it! Just in case any of you want to share your testimony next month in Sacrament Meeting, you now know what to say. Thanks Max!

Max's tunes

Max loves to sing, and sings all the time. This special song is about "Dr. Cockroach"--don't ask, because I'm not sure!!

He and Justin especially love to replace silly words in songs, such as;
While eating Monday night pizza..."My primary colors are one two three, red, yellow and blue. Each one has a pizza for you and me..."
On his way to go potty, Max sang, "I love to see the temple, I'll go potty there some day,"...

It never ends. They're always singing and laughing and singing and laughing.

Max's Push-ups

Max loves doing exercises with me. His version of push-ups is my absolute favorite. He's so funny. I love his comment at the end of his push-up interval, "that was a lot harder than I thought!" Then of course he bounds right up as though he were a leapy frog!

HIGH Ho HIGH Ho....

It's off to work I go! These should keep the mud out!

Max's discipline

Max went to Orchards to play with his friend Mia. This was our conversation when he returned home:

Mom: Max, what did you and Mia do together?

Max: I pushed her!

Mom: Why?

Max: Because she cried, and that wasn't an option!

This sent Justin and I into hoots of laughter. How does he know how to use these words?

Getting the facts straight

Justin, Max, and I were putting together this puzzle. Justin was explaining the facts to him about horses, "This is a mother and baby horse. The baby horse is called a foal, and a girl horse is called a mare...She's the mother."

Max looked at me, then at the puzzle, then back to me with a look of TRUE CONFUSION. He said in a tone of total disbelief, "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU USED TO BE A HORSE???"

Why we LOVE MAX

We love Max because he...

• poops and pees in the toilet and not in his shoes.
• stashes food under his pillow so he can snack at night.
• paces around the house while talking on his fake cell phone.
• learns and sings all sorts of songs! He leads the nursery in singing every week (even when we visit other wards), and all look to Max to learn the words. His favorite songs are BY FAR "I am a Child of God" and "Little Einsteins."
• loves to find and match letters everywhere he goes...on signs, shirts, books...anything!
• talks with a unique "Max voice"... (people always tell us that they LOVE listening to Max talk. Not only is he FUN and CHARMING in personality, but his voice is so cute!
• politely and with much emphasis says, "Gank you."
• loves to put together puzzles. His favorites are 60-piece puzzles that he assembles often by him self. Once Geoff was working with him and said, "I found an edge piece!" Max quickly responded, "NO! that is a PER-I-Mi-TERRRRRRR piece!" He knows the parts!
• Often tells us, "I LOVE YOU" like he really means it!
• Exercises with mom in the morning. Max LOVES to come in with me and do my exercises...and actually really seems to enjoy it (where as other children seem to have absolutely NO interest).
  
• loves Peter Pan, and loves being defiant and mischievous like him. He can imitate his personality and his stance to a T! He still loves to think happy thoughts and FLY into his crib for nap time!
• loves to wear his red boots (slippers, but he insists they are boots).
