Sour Dough Bread Success!!

Thanks to Gwen Lund and a little tenacity through the failures, we are now producing some DELICIOUS sourdough bread. We ALL (Max included, amazingly enough) love it. Above is a cinnamon swirl loaf. It was so pretty coming out of the oven, I had to take a picture.
The best part of this bread is the simplicity of making it --no need for a Kitchen Aide or Bosch, just a bowl and spoon, some starter, flour and salt and a little time. We even cook it on our expensive Home Depot Cooking stone...a ceramic tile that cost about $1.
Our next adventure will be sour dough crackers!

Little Garden is blooming
It is SO EXCITING to see our little garden sprout. It a pure miracle that our peas survived and even thrived through the deadly explorations of Max! He is our garden's worst enemy! We are loving our strawberry planters (stacked 5 high) especially with our limited garden space. We are planting summer stuff now. We're learning a lot about producing our own food...little as it is.

Easter & the Journey!
Easter was very fun this year! We did all the traditional things (coloring Easter eggs, pistachio trails, Hidden Eggs, Easter FHE with the 12 eggs, learning more about the Resurrection...etc.), but the Easter Bunny did venture out a bit and brought the kids a small collection of candy this year...you can see their "HUGE" stash in the picture above. They were totally excited. Our ward put on a program called "The Journey to Christ" in which Geoff was one of the Apostles (Pictures coming if I remember). It was viewed by over 3,000 people in 3 days...a memorable and inspiring event. Our ward building was COMPLETELY transformed so that when you entered you felt as though you traveled back in time to the days of Christ. It made this Easter Season extra special!

EP Geo Dome/Jungle Gym
The boys had a hay day setting up Joanna's Geometric Dome/ Emergency Shelter. Our Family has been looking into getting a good temporary shelter, so Geoff was especially anxious to check out Joanna's! We like this one because we could use it as a green house as well. The boys love it because it seconds as a HUGE jungle gym!
