A New Day-- Happy New Year

We packed up at Mom's house and after a long and wonderful Christmas vacation, we headed home. Max slept peacefully for the first three hours (alleluia!), we made a stop to pick up 4 gallons of honey for our food storage, and by 7pm, we were home!

It felt like an odd sort of deja'vu, as last year about this time we were returning home for the first time without Oakley. As good as it felt to come home finally, I couldn't help but keenly feel Oakley's absence.

We quickly unpacked, put Max down for the night, then went downstairs and celebrated our own little family Christmas. Justin found his present that Santa Claus left for him, and we opened our presents from our family. Justin was so excited to have a lego Ferrari, and immediately set out to put it together. Justin is such a good boy--so big and so fun. And Max is pure entertainment and JOY! Certainly we count our blessings to have living the 2 boys we have.

During our vacation, I heard Celine Dion sing a song called "A New Day." I feel a invigorating feeling as we enter the new year, that it will be "new," alive, purposeful and fulfilling--a wonderful year. I thank the Lord for the hope we have through His spirit and by His Gospel.
