A Night to Remember

Geoff had the opportunity to go to a class offered at the Boise Library on "Xeriscape: landscaping using native plants that require very little water and maintenance"--a very good class to take right now as we prepare to landscape Hidden Springs! We are planning to do a very natural and water smart landscape. The instructor is amazingly skilled and talented in this area--and the class was highly informative and inspiring!

So after we ate our Monday Night Pizza, I put Max down for the evening, Geoff went to his class and Justin and I went downstairs to watch the movie "A Night to Remember" about the sinking of the Titanic. Justin has been reading about the Titanic and has been waiting several days to watch this movie. He was very attentive throughout.

Afterwards, after watching the tremendous catastrophe and the heartache of watching people lose loved ones and their own lives, I wondered what Justin would have done in the same situation if he were the captain of the ship. I was thinking along the lines of what might have been done to calm the people and create more room in the boats, etc. But when I asked him what he would have done if he were the Captain of the Titanic, he answered quite matter of fact like, "Well, I would have steered the ship away from the iceberg!!!." Quite a reasonable response, wouldn't you say?!

I love doing things with Justin because it is like doing things with a 'little Geoff'. He is so analytical and logical, so creative and smart, so simple. Seldom, does a night go by without outright laughter and pure enjoyment due to his cute personality and approach to life.
